The Finnish Artists' Studio Foundation
The Artists Association of Finland (AAF) founded the Foundation in 1990 to take over the real estate operations of the Association. The purpose of the Finnish Artists' Studio Foundation is to secure and offer reasonably rated working facilities and studio apartments for visual artists and to otherwise take part in enhancing their working conditions. The Foundation also supports the policies of the AAF. It is a
non-profit organisation. Its objective, once upkeep and administrative expenses have been taken into account, is to minimize the rents and other costs of the studio spaces and residencies as much as possible.
Since 1950's the Foundation/Association has promoted the opportunities of Finnish artists to work abroad e.g. with
it's own studio houses in Spain and Italy. FASF also maintains Artist-in-Residence information in
it's website for both Finnish and foreign artists. FASF is the national coordinator of the Pépinières européennes pour jeunes artistes -programme.
