The Tapiola Scholarship Studio Apartment is aimed at professional artists in the early stages of their careers. Scholarship recipients can live and work in a work-live apartment located in the Tapiola Artist Apartments for three years.
The first Scholarship recipients in Tapiola are visual artists Aino Tillonen and Paavo Järvi, who started working in the work-live apartment in January 2026. Read more on the scholarship recipients: (only in Finnish, LISÄÄ LINKKI)
The next application round for the Tapiola Scholarship Studio Apartment will be opened in autumn 2028. However, we reserve the right to change the schedule. We will announce the call for applications well in advance on the Studio Foundation website and through other communication channels.
Information about the scholarship studio apartment
The scholarship studio apartment is an open, bright and high-ceiling space for living and working. The size of the work-live apartment is 78 m², of which the studio space is approximately 60 m². The ground floor has a small kitchen and bathroom. The first floor has a high-ceilinged studio space with a platform suitable for sleeping at one end.
The rent for the scholarship studio apartment is €500/month. The rent is lower than the general rental level of the Studio Foundation’s work-live apartments thanks to funding granted by the City of Espoo. The purpose of the apartment is to be an apartment and a visual artist’s workspace.
